Mercer 1, O. Brock 2, E D. Hammond 3. These three tied for points and in the shoot-oS the reaultjwaa as above. The trophies for second match (Mr McElroy’s and Mr Mercer’s) were won by H. S. Mercer and E. D. Hammond, dead heat, 1; O. Brook, 3. , I No. 1 Sweepstake.—o. Brook 1, H. S. Mercer 2, T. Carr 8, The best shooting was in the second event (7 birds) when Mercer and Hammond made the possible. Taking the whole day through Mercer’s performance was exceptional, as the light was none too good. After the event was over, a meeting of the Club was held, and as the secretary (Mr J. Perry) felt it incumbent to resign owing to his relinquishing his present occupation, the president expressed his regret, and the Club donated him a substantial amount expressive of their appreciation of his past services. Mr Frank Petherick accepted the position of secretaryship of a club which has hitherto proved most prosperous, and which we may hope to see firmly established. Mr Petherick has always proved himself an enthusiast, and though not a shootist, baa been unstinting in the way of time and energy in support of what is now one of the most firmly established and prosperous gun clubs in the South Island.
