ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.

Per Press Association. Hokitika. March 9, The body of a man named W. J. Duggan, 75 years of age, a resident of Kanairi district, was discovered at*the bottom of the Hokitika river near the transit shed this morning. It was evidently a case of suicide, as a heavy window weight was , at--4 tached to the gbody. Deceased complained yesterday of severe pains and spoke of ending his troubles. He had recently been discharged from the hospital. Lincoln, the man injured in a sawmill accident yesterdaj, recovered consciousness _ to-day, and recognised members of his family. His injuries are most severe there being a gaping wound along his forehead.
