N In the House of Commons, Mr Lloyd George,- replying tojJMr Field, stated that the Government was considering the possibility of making the American Beef Trust pay an income tax on the profits arising from their transactions in Britain. HOME OR FOREIGN GRANITE. Heckled in the House of Commons concerning the use of Norwegian granite at the Rosyth Docks, instead of Irish or British, Mr Burns refused to grant the Admiralty £30,000, the differenoa in cost between Scandinavian and British granite for the purpose of giving employment.
