Wanganui, February 18. Thomas Cooper, aged 19 years, whose parents reside at Havelock, was drowned in the river this morning while bathing. He got out into the current which was very strong and was heard to cry out “I’m done! I’m done!’’ and then he sank. Other bathers dived but were unsuccessful in finding him. Deceased was employed in the Lanas Department and had just received word that he had passed the Senior vjivil Service examination.
