COURTS.

Press Association. Foxton, February 10. At the S.M. Court yesterday Mr Thomson, S.M., imposed the maximum fine of £5 on F. A. Easton, flaxmiiler and farmer, for having used insulting language to Constable Woods in a public place. From the evidence It appeared that Easton was dissatisfied with the evidence of Woods at a previous action, which caused him to use the language complained of. The Magistrate emphatically declined to increase the fine, to enable an appeal to be lodged.
