COALMINERS’ ORGANISATIONS.

Mr [Hickey, New Zealand f coalminers’ delegate, attended a special meeting of the Committee of the Northern Colliery Employees’ Federation at Newcastle, and explained his mission to Australia. He placed the position of coalminers of the Dominion before the raining communities here, and hoped a plan would be formulated to bring the Newcastle and New Zealand coalminers’ organisations closer together.

The meeting decided that the executive officers of the Federation confer with Mr Hickey during the coming week with a view to arriving at a scheme for co-ordinate action.
