Girton College, one of the women’s colleges at Cambridge, is appealing for £50,000 to pay the building debt and to endow scholarships. Received February 8, 9.15 a.m. Sydney, February 8. A fire at Ballan destroyed a block of six shops, the damage being valued at £6OOO. The Marine Court found'that the stranding of the Karnah was due to the Mate, Molloy, having altered the course set by the captain, and called upon Molloy to show cause why his certificate should not he dealt with.
