The wool sales have closed.® There was a strong demand for most sorts at the highest level of the series. In choice seventies, Merino equalled the London prices of January last year. Sixty-fours for America were at a penny below the November rates. There was strong steady competition for average combings for the Home trade and the Continent] at full December rates Topmakers’ crossbreds were firm at December rates. Parcels suitable for America showed 13]Jper cent, advance on the December rates. During the series 93,000 bales were sold for the Home market, 88,000 for the Continent, 13,000 for America, 8000 being held over.
