United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. Sydney, February 7. Durnan is anxious for a match with Arnst and offers to pay £2OO expenses for a race. ARNST AT AUCKLAND. Per Press Association Auckland. February 8. Arnst gave a splendid exhibition on Saturday afternoon between Pine Island and Kauri Point over a mile and a half. For the greater part of the course he kept even with a four oar crew, by which ha was paced, and finally shooting ahead of the four oar gig, put in a magnificent spurt Arnst states that the stretch of water on Saturday was as good as the Parramatta and an ideal championship course. He created the impression that if he retains the championship after his races abroad he will stipulate that the next match be rowed in Auckland.
