FIRE.

Per Press Association. Christchurch, February 0. Addington State School was totally destroyed by fire at an early hour this morning. The school was to have been re-opened on Monday after the holidays and was just to be repainted and renovated throughout. The fire started in a room in which a new floor had just been laid. There is nothing to show its origin. Among the property destroyed was a piano valued at £65, the school lending library on which £BOO had been spent in the last two years, also a number of cases containing valuable natural history specimens. The workmen’s tools were alsojburnt, but fortunately no furniture had been installed. The insnranoes are not yet available.
