WRECK OF THE CLANRANALD.
United Press Association.—.By Bleotrio Telegranh.—Copyright. Adelaide, February 2. The white members of the crew are reticent as to the actual cause of the disaster. From what can be leartfed, however, it appears that something must have occurred aboard I:he Olanranald and the hypothesis is that the ship struck Marion Reef, which lies to fchejmuth-weat of Trowbridge Hill. The victims of the’Olanranald were buried at Edithbnrg. The Lascars were buried in a large trench 35 feet long, and the whites in a smaller trench. Some complaints have been made that assistance was not promptly sent. News that some unknown vessel was in distress was received on Sunday night, but assistance was not sent till eight o’clock on Monday morning.
