The Antwerp sales closed with less competition owing to poorer choice. 3952 bales of La Plata were offered and 2400 sold plus 400 sold between the sittings. FROZEN MEAT. Per Press Association. Napier, January 14, The O. O. &D. Company cable ■ The demand lor all classes of frozen meat is very weak. The value of lamb has declined %d. To-day’s quotations are:—Canterbury mutton 3%d, Napier, Wellington and North Island Lamb, first quality sd, second 4>£d. Beef, hinds 3%d, fores 3d. STOCK REPORT. —At Palmerston North yesterday a good yarding of cattle met with good competition, and a clearance was effected at satisfactory prices. Sheep were in limited supply, and bidding except for good rape lambs was not very keen. Quotations:—Cattle, fat bullocks £7 12a 6d, £7 14s 6d, to £7 15s, 3 and 4 year bullocks £5 13s 3d, year bullocks £5 Ss 2d and 2% year steers £2 19s to £8 10s, 2 year steers £2 10s to £2 12s 6d, 18 months steers 86s to 89s, mixed yearlings 265, weaners 10s to 13s 6d, fat cows £4 to £4 17s 6d, forward cows £2 15s to £3 4s, store cows 30s to £2 ss, caws and calves £3 4s, cows in milk £3 17s 6d to £4. bulls £2 to £3 *l6s. Sheep, rape lambs 9s 9d, mixed 2 tooths 10s, fat ewes 10s 3d, forward ewes Bs, 2 tooth wethers 9s Id, 2 tooth ewes 13s.
