ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
Per Press Association. Invercargill, January 12. The body of E. A. Brown, 30 years of age, who disappeared from his home in Ayenai a week ago, was found to-day in the Waihopai river. The deceased was formerly employed in the Bank of New Zealand, and at the time of his disappearance word came of his appointment to Raugiora. At the inquest a verdict of “Pound Drowned’’ was returned, Auckland, January 13. A painfully sudden death occurred this evening. Mr Charles McCormick, a married man, employed as foreman by the Ferro Concrete Co., who had been at work as usual all day, was walking home, rand when near his residence in Upper Pitt Street, was seen to fall. He f was picked up and carried into his house, hut on the arrival of a medical man he was found to be dead. Deceased who was 39 years old, is said to have been subject to heart disease. Dunedin, January 13. The body of a man was found at the upper harbour this morning. Some of his clothes bore the name of J. Ross. He was well dressed, with money in his pocket, and gold sleeve links bearing the initials J.R. The man was about 35, and of stout build.
