Mr Coulter interviewed the Prime Minister and the Postmaster-General in connection with the Ail Red Route and the suggested Australian contribution of a subsidy of £75,000, Mr Fisher thought the proposal needed serious consideration, and was somewhat appalled by the amount of the subsidy suggested. No doubt it was an ideal scheme, but it involved a lot of money. The financial aspect of the problem was one that could not be lost sight of. A further interview is to be held.
