TO-DAY’S MxiTOH. Press ’Association. Christchurch, June 12. The Canterbury team to play Britain is as follows Full -back, A, {E, Doell • three-quarters, F. O. Boer, R. G. Deans, W. B. Fuller; five-eighths, G. D. Gray add E. B. McDonald; half-back, P. Burns; forwards, J. Mahoney, T. Bond, W. Menzies, J. Baker, S. Hopkins, C. Evans, T. Bain, and D. McPhail (wing). The captain has not been chosen, but it may be taken for granted that Deans will lead the team. Mr F. Law’s, of Wellington, will bo referee. The members of the British team clid not do any practice fco-day, preferring to rest instead. This afternoon they were driven out to Kaiapoi to have a look over the woollen mills, AN IDEAL BAY. Chris tclmrch, June 13. The prophecies of bad weather have not been fulfilled as the day is ideal—sunny and windless’ almost like midsummer. It is calculated that 15,000 people will attend the football match. Country people 'are largely in evidence to-day. There were numerous arrivals last night and by early trains to-day.
