MARTON PRESBYTERIAN SOCIAL.

The social and concert in aid of the building fund of Marton Presbyterian Church, held in St. Andrews’ Hall on Wednesday night, was“a great success. Singers in the concert part of tiie programme included Mr T. McGregor and party from Bulls, and some of the best local talent, and tiieir efforts gave great satisfaction to a packed house. The Limerick competition caused great interest. Competitors had to find the last line to the following:— He promised that he would be true To the maid Whom a fortnight he knew But the very next day He left sad to say Mr T. McGregor, Bulls, was first with— With her gold watch and her money too. Miss Carr was second with— For he found he could'nt keep two. Mr O. Aitkin was third with— Now she wonders who gave him the cue.
