MR FOWLDS ON COALITION.
; Per Press Association. Auckland, June 4. Responding ,to the* toast of the Ministry at a complimentary social to Mr Baume, Mr Fowlds said with reference to the recent talk of cdaliion, that there was no reason why the Liberal Party should coalesce with a small party like the Opposition. Some members of the Opposi« tion admitted they would have great difficulty in forming a Ministry from their ranks, even if they returned from the polls with a majority, while the Government Party , could form two or three Ministries from its ranks. Socialism was only a party cry, and the aim of Government was to make progress along sound lines.
