RANGITIKEI HUNT.
A better day for limiting than last Saturday can hardly ba imagined, and with rise meet at View Halloa, the residence of the Master, a real good day was anticipated by a largo number of members and their friends, who turned tip to meet the hounds tnei'P. And they were not disappointed, as hounds ran hard all day and accounted for three hares, after three really good gallops over green fences and the country just soft enough to fall on and not sort enough to be too heavy going. With the one exception the runs were circular over the property of Messrs Riddiford and Levin, but one hare took us straight away from the back of View Halloa to the Pukepapa hill, when the hounds were whinped off, as most of the field had stayed with the Master and two couples of hounds on the right hare which had turned back, a fresh one getting up in front of the pack at the Tutaeuui and going straight away. Amongst the ladies following were Mrs D. Riddiford on Cinders, Miss N. Wilson on the General, Miss Russell-on Billy, Mrs Openshaw on Greasy, Miss SmPh on Trooper, Miss Fitzherbert on Haney Lee, and several ladies and children watching the sport with the keenest interest on horseback. Amongst the members following was a visitor from Italy, Mr Oacoia, riding Storm, a horse well known in local jumping contests, but new to the hunting field, however, his rider has nothing to learn in the way of riding anyhow, and I am sure will teach the horse a lot if tiiey follow bounds together a few times. Mrs .Riddiford hospitably enfcertaiuedg a large party of ladies and sportsmen at lunch and tea.
