TAIHAPE.
From Onr Own Correspondent.
*’~The weather is now wot and wintry, and snow is visible on the south-west hills to-day. We trust that it will not get closer than it is at present. Wo are used to meetings of various kinds id Taihapo, but the one hold on Saturday last, in which the Official Assignee from Wanganui acted,'as chairman, was an innovation which we do not at all welcome, and much as we appreicate the genial assignee wo trust that his visits in his official capacity may he few and far between. The instance was a meeting of the creditors ot A. W Terrill, tobacconist and hairdresser of Taihapo. Not being at the meeting lam not in a position to give any particulars. I believe that an offer for the estate was made, and is under consideration.
A smart shock of earthquake was felt at Taihapo on Sunday morning about 9.50 o’clock. It was a very severe one and lasted a considerable time.
