Price, cotton operator, has been indicted in New York for bribing officials and making a conspiracy to defraud and improperly "making £150,000 through early information, due to leakage of Government statistics. Three others, eluding Edwards and Holmes, formerly assistant statisticians in Washington, have been charged with conspiracy with Price. A great gamble in oats and maize took place on the Chicago grain market. Patten, a speculator, made himself a million sterling'on a corner atfer a severe conflict with the Armours.
