TWO SPEECHES. Press Association—Copyright. Received May 23, 8.10 a. m.| London, May 31. Sir E. Grey, addressing the Victoria League, said that all implicaton of subordination and restraint has disappeared from the word Empire. Liberty and inudependence constituted the bond of union between the Motherland and the colonies. Sir Edward Grey, at the Japan Society’s 'dinner, unhesitatingly affirmed that the objects of the treaty of alliance with Japan were more secure than ever, and likewise the prospects of|peace.
