The Porte, under threat of other proceedings, accepted the terms of M. A majority of Lancashire and Oheshirre miners voted in favour of affiliation with the Labour Representation Committee. On the motion of Mr Lyttleton, M.P., an important meeting of supporters of the Shakespearian Memorial, appointed a committee .to draft a scheme for a National Theatre. King’s Colonial Volunteer Corps have been established at Oxford and Cambridge Universities; all the Rhodes scholars and most of the Australians have joined. The Rhodes’, trustees will provide horses for the Oxford corps. A memorial to William Dampier, navigator, has been erected at his birthplace. East Coker. Received May 21 10.21 a. m. Sydney, May 21. Mr Williamson states that he believes that Drury Lane people played Mother Goose in 1902, hut the Mother Goose which he played and for which he bought the rights from the author, was first produced in Manchester in 1906. He fails to see where" the Drury Lane claim comes in. Melbourne, May 21. Sir W. Lyne brought down additional estimates providing for expenditure of £571,000. He estimates the revenue at £15,315,000, leaving a surplus to be returned to the States of £9,189,000. Hobart, May 21. . A funnel and ladder, positively identified as belonging to the Orion, have been found east of Tasman Head.
