' In the House Mr Deakin, referring to Cardinal Loguo’s statements, said the assertion that Australia is practically independent, is only true so far as that she enjoys the amplest powers of self government, ‘,which has drawn the Mother country and the Commonwealth together, instead of thrusting them asunder. He undertook to see that a denial of Cardinal Lcgue’s statement is cabled to Loudon.
