COURTS.
Per Press Association. Dunedin, May 145. The prisoners sentenced at th« Supreme Court this morning were George Herbert Conroy for theft at Balclutha, four months’ imprisonment ; George Holmes forgery at Invercargill, sentence deferred pending charges of theft at Christcnurch; Leroi and Marshall, breaking and entering and theft, four charges, six months’ imprisonment on each charge, sentences to be concurrent. Auckland, May 15.
John Hall, a youth of sixteen years of age, who started a career of crime four years ago and has a record of house breaking, theft, damaging property, and escaping from Burnham School, -appeared in court to-day on a charge of breaking and entering and theft at Remuera. He admitted the ofience and the bad record, and when Mr Dyer, S.M., sentenced him to three months gaol. Hall asked it he was to be sent to Burnham School at the end of the term, if so he would rather have a longer sentence. The magistrate said Hall, seemed absolutely hopeless, but he would not give him any more at present.
