FIRES.
Per Press Association. Dunedin, May 4. $ A six-roomed house, owned by Peter Hunter, and occupied by R. Wilson (of Donald Reid and Co.), in Balclutha, was totally destroyed by fire early this morning. Mrs Wilson was away from home, and Mr Wilson was staying at the Railway Hotel, so the dwelling was temporarily unoccupied. The origin of the fire is a complete mystery. The building was insured in the Norwich Union for £l5O, and in the State office for £IOO, while Mr Wilson had £2OO on his furniture in the Yorkshire.
