Per Press Association. Napier, May 8. There is a largo attendance for the second day’s mooting and tho course is ia good order. There is a strong breeze blowing across the course. Twelve bookmakers were licensed. The amount put through the totalisafcor handled during the meeting was .-§!&, 005, or £sll less than last year, exclusive of the double machine. Results:—■
Ohiti Hurdles, I}£ miles ; Rawhiti 1, Commander 2, Top Rose 3. Scratched: Reservoir. Won easily all the way. Time, 2min 58 l-osec. Obawa Hack Handicap, 7 furlongs: Goldfield 1. Lamsdorff SiUtopia 3. jXU started. Won by a length. Time, Imin 32sec.
Hawke’s Bay Stakes, 6% furlongs : Bobriboff 1, King Pose 3, Gold Crest 8. Also started: All Red, Aborigine, Diamond Star, and Splash. Bobritoff led all the way and won by a clear length. King Post came with a good run from the distance, and just bear the favourite for second money. Time, Imiu 24sec. Burke Memorial Stakes, once round: Kairoma 1, Grand Slam 2, Uenuku 8. Also started: Loiret, Mystification, Chicane, and King’s Lynn. Won easily. Time, Imin 52 3-ssec.
Scurry Handicap, 5 furlongs; Advantage 1, Maiora 2, Misstime 3. Also started; Erl King, Wonder - bohm, Goldfield, Tuatabi, Miss Advance, and Hapuku. Won by a length. Time, Imin 4sec. Mangataeata "Hurdles, 1% miles: Waipu 1, Black Reynard 2, Gold Dust 3. Also started: Asteroid, Pushful, Te ;Kaxnul, Reservoir. Won by half a length. Time, 3min 20sec.
The stewards considered the running of Waipu, hut decided* that it was unnecessary to hold an inquiry.
Juvenile Handicap, 5 furlongs: Ohanteuse 1, Oontendent 2, The Cockatoo 3. Also started; Formative, Berengaria, Caatiglioni, Bally High, Remission, Polynisch, Thaler. Won by half a length. Time, Imin 3 l-ssec.
Farewell Handicap, seven furlongs: Woodhoy 1, The Seer 2, Onatterer 3. Also started; Loiret, King's Lynn, Erin, Millennial, Tariua. Woodhoy was pulled to the front at the home bend and won comfortably. Loiret Erin, and Tariua fell shortly after the start. Time. Imin 33sec. WANGANUI JOCKEY CLUB.
