THE TIMES AND THE PUBLISHERS. Per Press Association. —Copyright. Received May 7, 0.18 a.m. London, May 6. An action, John Murray (publisher) v. The Times, began before Justice Darling and a special jury in the King’s Bench Division for alleged libel contained in letters signed “Artificer,” the first of which appeared on October 19th, dealing with the cost of producing the letters of Queen Victoria. Mr Murray in his evidence gave details of the enormous cost of producing the book and stated that on the first edition of 10,000 copies his profit was 2s per copy.
