THE BLACKBALL STRIKE.
A TEST CASE. Per Press Association. Timaru, May 5. Mr Pryor, secretary to the Hew Zealand Employers’ Federation, when passing through Christchurch, to Timaru to-day, met the directors of the Blackball Coal Company and received their reply to an offer made by the Advisory Board of the Federation. This -was that if the Government would not take action against the Unions that have voted contributions to the strike pay fund of the Blackball miners, the Federation would employ counsel and pay all expanses if- the company took antion. The directors accepted this offer, and the question whether making such contributions is an offence as aiding and abetting a strike will be tested in a court of law.
