STOCK REPORT. Messrs Dalgety & Co., Ltd., Palmerston North, report;—Wc had a very fair yarding of sheep and a small entry of cattle at onr eliding sale on Friday, the Ist mst. ihe presence of an up coast buyer was mainly responsible for the healthy tone of the sheep market ana he - practically cleared the jards of all good skinned wethers. *AII classes of forward stock wore in demand, hot we again have to report no inquiry for breeding ewes. Jackson <» ’ Oo , report:—On the 29th ult., at our Wanganui sale, our yarding consisted of 530 mixed cattle, 0900 sheep, and 90 pigs. The attendance • was large, several outside buyers being present. Sheep, outlie whole, met a dragging sale, although most lines were disposed of during the day at satisfactory prices ; aged ewes and low condition sheep somewhat hard to auit. A better demand for cattle of good quality. A nice line of Hereford weaners on account ot Mr G. M. Ourrie made: steers £3 4s, and heifers £2 Is. Most of the cattle were sold privately after the auction. The pigs yarded were of good quality throughout aud sold at better values than at our last sale. Quotations Light fat cows £3 10s to £4 6s, good £5, fat aud forward cows £3 5s to £3 Bs, lighter £3 17s 6d, store cows 80s to 355, aged cows 20s to 255. Hereford weaner steers bred by G. M. Atkinson & 00., Ltd., report:—At our sale on Friday we . had a fair entry of pigs, competition for good stores being keen and prices advanced on last week. The poultry offered was of poor quality which accounts for the low quotations. We quote: Horses: 4year -old gelding £2l, 6-year gelding £ll ss, aged jjnares £5 10s to £7, saddle gelding £5, 7-year-old gelding £9, aged saddle mare £2 10s. Pigs ; Weaners 5s 6d to 7s ,'.6d, slips rough 4s Gd, good 9s 6d, 10s 3d, lls 3d to 12a 3d; small stores 14s Gd to 15s 3d, good stores 20s 3d, 29s to 81s Gd. Poultry: Hens Bd, 9d, lid, Is Id, Is 2d, to Is 4d ; roosters 9d, Is, Is 4d to Is 6d; ducks’ls 7d, geese 2s, 2s 2d to 2s 4d; turkeys small 2s Gd to 4s, guinea fowls 3s 6d, all at each Produce; Potatoes 10s, to lls Gd, pig 8s to 3s 9djper sack.
