HIDE AND SKIN REPORT. Messrs Dalgety & Co., Ltd., Palmerston North, report having held their usual monthly sale of wool, skins and hides on the Ist inst. We offered an average catalogue to a large attendance of buyers, and competition was keen for all lots offered, especially good sound skins and hides, which advanced to the extent of P er on * ast sale rates. We quote: Wool: Inferior crossbred Bd to 3>Al, medium crossbred 4d to dead wool'2%d to 4d, bellies and pieces 3d, locks to l%d, lambs wool rough 4d, black 3J£d, Sheepskins to wool pelts 3>£d to3%d, woolly crossbred pelts sound 3d to Bb£d, dead 3d, lambs 3%d to 4d, inferior and damaged pelts to 2d. Butchers part dry and green crossbred 2s, 2s 3d, 2s 4d, 2s 6d, to 2s 9d each ; lambs Is Id to 2s each, salted pelts small Is 7d " each. Hides: Heavy ox to 5%d, ligh to medium sd, cows medium 4%d, light 4d, yearlings, 3%d calf skins sound 3%d to 4d, cut and damaged to 2d. STOCK REPORT. The Loan & Mercantile "Agency Co. reportAt Feilding to-day we again had a gvery heavy entry of sheep of all classes. There was a good demand for good [’forward lambs, and more inquiry existed ffor good forward wethers. Any sheep with condition sold freely, but ewes in lamb were neglected. A medium entry of cattle made fair values. Medium lambs 4s lOd to (is 4d, woolly lambs 7s to 8s lid, forward lambs 9s (id, cull ewes 3s Id to 4s Gd, store ewes 7s to 7s Gd, forward ewes 8s 2d to 8s lOd, fat ewes 12s Od to 12s 9d, ewes in lamb 7s 4d to 10s 4d, cull wethers 7s 9d to 30s 4d, 2-tooth wethers 10s lid, to 11s lOd, forward 2-tooth wethers IBs 9d to 14s, 4-tooth an 6-tooth wethers 10s to 13s 3d, 20mouths heifers 30s, store cows 34s to £2, forwarckfcows £3 14s Gd to £3 6s, fat cows £5 10s.
