GARVIN—BURGESS
but pretty wedding took place at St. Martin’s Greatford, on Thursday last, the contracting parties toeing Mr John Andrew Garvin, third son of Mr Archibald Garvin, of Palmerston South, and Miss Daisy Theresa, fifth daughter of Mr H. Burgess, of Greatford. The ceremony was performed by the Yen. Archdeacon Towgood and the Wedding March was played by Mrs A. H. Bill. The bride wore a pretty muslin dress, trimmed with Valenciennes lace and insertion, the usual veil and orange blossoms, and carried a lovely shower bouquet, the gift of Mrs A. H. Bill, Greatford. The chief bridesmaid was Miss Violet Burgess, sister of the bride, who wore a cream hailstone muslin dress and a valuable gold brooch set with pearls and rubies, the gift of the bridegroom. The other bridesmaids were Misses Eva and Ivy ISTeagle, nieces of the bride, who wore pretty muslin frocks and also gold brooches, the gift of the bridegroom. The bride’s present from the bridegroom was a beautiful gold bangle set with rubies and opals. Mr J. O’Brien was best man. After the ceremony a reception was held at “Ivy Cottage” the residence of the bride’s paients, where a large number of guests were entertained at wedding breakfast. A large number of useful and iwell-seletced presents were received. In the evening a dance was held and a most enjoyable time was spent.
