An explosion sank the training cruiser Matsnthima off Pescadores. It is feared that 200 have perished. Received May 1, 4.0 a.m. Tokio, April 30.

The Matsbime was anchored at Maknng. The magazine exploded and she foundered. Only the bridge is visible. Two cruisers rescued 141, including some officers. The majority, including the captain, perished. The complement of 300 included 58 cadets. It is feared tiie victims included Prince Oyama’s sons.
