CHRISTIAN ENDEAVOUR RALLY.
Last, evening, 29fch inst., a wellattended meeting was held in the Methodist Church, Martou. Tea was served in the schoolroom from 6 o’clock for Endeavourers, visiting delegates and friends. The Rev. T. G. Carr welcomed the visitors, specially the Rev. O. E. Beecroft as president of the Methodist Conference, and the Rev. A. B. Chappell. M.A., the organising secretary of the Young 'People’s forward movement. Hoth these gentlemen gave interesting addresses. At the roil call there were responses from a number of societies in the district. Mrs Chappell sang with much taste “There is a Green Hill far Away,” Mr O. L. Carr “The Lost Chord”; the junior Endeavour Soicety contributed a duet and quartette, and Misses Cox and Hillier and Messrs Byrt and Sillcocks sang “Seeds of Promise.” The report was read by the treasurer and the secretary, and a most interesting meeting was concluded by the Rev. D. Gordon. Miss Hillier presided at the organ.
