LOSS OF PEARLERS.

A SERIOUS DISASTER. Press Association.—Copyright. Received April 80, 9.29 a.m. Perth, April 30. The disaster to the pearling fleet was more disastrous than anticipated, The storm was very sudden and severe. It also did considerable damage ashore. The full extent of the disaster is not yet known.

The latest news is that two schooners and fifteen luggers have either been smashed up or sunk. Two whites, McLachlau and Gaskin, and about fifty coloured men were drowned.

Altogether 200 boats with crews aggregating 2000 are affected. Many are still missing but mayhiave sheltered on the coast.’ Arrangements have been made to search for the survivors.
