THE WRONG MAN LIBERATED.

Paris, March 6. At Grenoble the prison warders have just try mistake liberated one prisoner whom they should have kept, and detained another who had a right to his freedom. There happened to be two men called Jouret in the prison. One was only beginning to serve a long term, and the other had finished his. The first Jouret was surprised one morning at receiving the viisfc of the chief warder, and being told that fro was free. Naturally, lie had no objection, and made awsy as fast as he could. The other Jonret, meanwhile, was wondering why ho was kept over his time. Ho timidly complained, and was told to desist. Peeling that he was bcdng wronged, he continued to protest, when the error was as last discovered. He w>s at once liberated with apologies, but the other Jouret was no lunger to be found, though all the police were sent after him. The prison-keepers got so confused at this that they made another mistake. They had two other men of the same name, each called Martin. The trial of one ef the Martins was to begin, and they sent the wrong man to the court. The second misaike, however, was easily repaired.
