MANGAWEKA.

Mangaweka footballers journeyed to Utiku jsoterday and after a hard fought game defeated tlio Utiku fifteen hj 7 six ooints to-nil. Tries were scored by W. Mcmklcy and Thorburn. This season Mangaweka has a sterling lot of players and should be well in at the end of the season towards shield honours.

A case, which should prove rather interesting to farmers and others around the district, will probably be ventilated at the sitting of tiie Magistrate’s Court on Thursday next.

A start has been made in the Kavvatau and other parts around hero felling the bush, and a large area will again ho brought down this winter. In the near future there will be no bush standing, yith the exception of that left for the purpose of shelter and scenery.
