AN ARCHBISHOP’S APPEAL.

The Rev. Clark, Archbishop of Melbourne, delivered in Great St. Mary’s Church, Cambridge, a stirring appeal to undergraduates, emphasising the church’s need of men both at home and in Australia, also hopefulness of the power of her work in those distant new communities of the English-speaking people.

At a church meeting the Rev. JT. H. Sprotfc, Anglican minister, said it was getting well-nigh impossible to get assistant clergy from England, as the mother church needed all the men she could get. Wo would have to endeavour in future to meet the demands ourselves.
On Friday there will be opened at Wellington Had field Memorial College and hostel, cue of the objects of which will be the training of a Now Zealand clergy.
