APITI SPORTS.

(From Our Own Correspondent.)

The Domain was opened to the public on Easter Monday when the Athletic Club held their first annual sports. Weather conditions were exceptionally favourable and the attendance was large. Officials and stewards had been working hard for the last few weeks in making suitable tracks. Owing to the stony, nature of the soil their efforts have involved an enormous amount of labor, and before an ideal sports ground is obtained Herculean efforts must be made from time to in order to keep the off. However, volunteers are continually coming forward and giving the Board-every reason to be sanguine of having a first-class Recreation Ground in the near future. The various events during the day caused keen competition, and the efficient manner in which the sports were conducted reflects high credit on the promoters. Results: — Boys’ Race, under 14; H.
