the sultan apologetic

ITALIAN FLEET HELD BACK,

Press Association —Copyright. K.orae,B’April 31

It is jsemi-officially reported in Rome that Turkey has conceded to Italy the same privileges as the other PoWerS'iegarding post offices. Turkey assured Signor Tittoni that the sentiments of friendship which had existed for years between the King of Italy and the Sultan and their respective Governments were unshaken. Signor Tittoni expressed satisfaction and reserved the other matters for subsequent negotiation, but insisted on “the immediate resumption of passenger and goods service by Italian mail boat between Tripoli, and Misratah, which was arbitrarily prohibited. Italy’s, naval demonstration has been countermanded. The first division had already sailed, and has been ordered to remain at Suda Bay .{Crete). The others will stay in Italian waters until the whole question has been fully and definitely settled.

Received April 32, 8.8 a.m
