RONGOTEA METHODIST CHURCH.

The anniversary services of Rongotea Methodist Church were held on Sunday and Wednesday last. The Rev. F. W. Isitt preached the anniversary sermon and delighted a large congregation. As is customary with the Methodist Churches of Rouogtea the Primitive Methodists closed their church on the evening of the auniverasry day. The annual meeting on Wednesday was attended by a number of Rongotor friends, representing several of the churches, who sat down to an excellent tea. Mr Gifford, sen., presided at the meeting that followed. Three earnest, thoughtful speeches were delivered by Revs. Beecroft (President ofjjOonfereuce), Carlyle, and F. W. Isitt. Mr O. H. Bowater, treasurer of the Church, read the balance-sheet which showed "a satisfactory credit of over £2B. Mr John Sanson, assisted by a strong choir, rendered a number of anthems in an excellent manner. The usual vote of thanks to all who had assisted, was proposed by Rev. D. McNicol, seconded by Mr Woods, and carried by acclamation.
