EASTER MANŒUVRES.
Press Association. Wellington, April 15. About two thousand men will beengaged in the master manoeuvres around Wellington. The force lias been divided intotwo—“Red” and “Blue”—under the commands of Captain Duthie and Colonel Watt respectively. The former will go into camp at Johnsouville, and the latter atPahautauni (near Porirna Harbour). The theory is to be that the “Bines” are a hostile force, landed from warships, and are intent on. marching to the city. It is the duty of the “Reds”.;to check them. There is a wide expanse of country at the disposal of the invaders, and it is expected that the operations will be interesting and instructive.* AUCKLAND CAMP. Auckland, April 16. Auckland volunteers will participate in Easter manoeuvres on a large scale, the presumption being that a. foreign force escorted by cruisers is within striking distance of the Coast at o p.m. on Friday. Lieut.Col. Reid, commands the attacking party, and Major Porritt directs the operations of the defending force. The Amokura acts in a dual capcity, posing sometimes as a hostile cruiser with.the attacking force and atother times will examine each vessel that looks suspicions entering theport at certain hours of the night.
