RAILWAY SUPERANNUATION.

Press Association. ■Wellington, April 13. The first meeting of the third board under the Government Railway Superannuation Fund Act 1902, was held yesterday. There were present the Hon. Hall-Jouos, Minitser of Railways, in the chair, the SolicitorGeneral, the Public Trustee, the General Manager for Railways, Messrs A. Graham, Timarn, and R. M. Isaacs, Wellintgon, representing the first division; W. Pepper, M. Thomas, J. Dawson, representing the second division. The Board dealt with 14 cases of retirement and passed allowances in connection therewith totalling' £B7B per year. Refunds of contributions amounting to £4OB, were made with respect to 54 persons who had been contributors to the fund. An allowance of £lB year was made to an enigne widow, and £l3 a year to the posthumous child of a stationmaster. It is understood that the income of the fund last year was approximately £513,000, and the payment made from the fund was £35,000.
