Mr Higham’s Coroner’s Inquests Bill, abolishing the compulsory viewing of bodies has been read a second time.

Mr Birrell intimated that there was a prospect of the Government legislating next year on the lines of Captain Craig’s Bill to distribute the ~ workhouse poor of Ireland among institutions such as almshouses, sanatoria and labour houses, in accordance with the report of the Yiceregal Commission of 1906. Mr Craig’s Bill was thereupon refused a second reading.
