The year that is divides by four, _ iWhich means, as old tradition goes, ■ it A spinster, feeling fierce and sore | Because the men do not propose, J May climb down from her dusty ishelf, " . r - And get to business for herself. Maids need not rave and tear their hair ' If coward man neglects to ask; ;; Each tracks a skulker to his lair, And takes upon herself the task. J See man in fear up every pole, And at the foot a patient soul.
Grim joy is purs if this evoke 1 A change of humor for the year. So that the great torn trousers joke, ; The scorned lover’s endless care, The dog, the boots grim fathers ; - hurl, , . May now attack the suing girl ,3 —SNELL. 1 In The Bulletin. -i
