BULLS.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) A meeting of the School Com* mittee .was held last evening, ih« whole of the members being present* The Chairman proposed and King seconded, that a record of api preciation of Miss Gordon’s services: in the difficult task she had per., formed, viz., opening the converted. District High School; be recorded eg the minutes and that a copy of fhg resolution be forwarded to Migg Gordon. j Correspondence from Major Sauru ders was handed to the headmaster for report; Messrs McGregor and Kearney were appointed ■ Visiting Committee for the month. The Headmaster 1 ! report gave 140 on the roll, and aa average attendance of 122. It was resolved that steps be' taken to obtain £SO over and above the £l5O, which had been forwarded! to the Education Board and. had been guaranteed as £2OO by thi committee. The Chairman pointed out that nearly all the amount had been raised in the Bulls district. The new master of the secondary department was introduced to the| committee as having taken up tiij position that day and was cordially, welcomed.
Sundry accounts were passed for; payment as soon as monies due werel received from the Education Board,i A special meeting was appoin:ed to be held on Monday, 13th April, to adopt report for the householders’ meeting and to receive balance! sheet. \ Mr H. A. Goodall was appointed! auditor and the secretary instructed; to forward his name to the Board. TECHNICAL COMMITTEE. V The report of the showed that there had been two classes established, one in millinery with 1$ students, the other in dressmaking with 12. It was decided that especially as no room could .be found for such a? class that it was inopportune. '1 It was resolved j that classes for English, Arithmetic and Book; keeping, should be started after the* Easter holidays. f The directors gave in an estimated result of the classes held last term;; showing a considerable balance to credit and the chairman was ce- ( quested to apply to the Education* Board for a detailed account of ieceipts'and expenditure to be presented in the annual report. j
