DUKE 0F DEVONSHIRE.

Press Association—Copyright.'! Received March 25, 8.30 a.m. London, March 24.

Obituary : The Duke of Devonshire at Cannes, from heart failure, aged 75. [The Duke of Devonshire, whose death is recorded above, was one of the group of politicians "particularly concerned in the formation of the Liberal Unionist Party at the time of the split of the late Mr Gladstone’s following, over Home Rule. As Marquis of Hartington, he was a leading member of the Liberal Party. His name has been one of political significance and power for the last 30 years. He was President of the Council during the late Coalition Government under Mr Balfour. His death will leave a gap in the remaining group of politicians, who whilst distinctly Liberal are at the same time unswervingly non Home Rulers. ]
