FEDERAL CARTRIDGE FACTORY.

COMBINED WITH NEW MINT,

Press Association—Copyright:. Seceivde March 2-1, 10..23 a.in. Melbourne, March 24

The Federal Government is 'considering a schema for utilising the proposed mint for silver and bronze coins for the complete manaweturo of cartridges. The working of the mint would not: fully occupy the hands and as the brass cups from which cartridges cases are drawn have to be imported it is proposed to add the manufacture of those cups to the work of the staff of the mint. The profits on the coinage of silver and bronze coins is estimated at £50,000 per annum and thus would more than cover the cost of producing twenty million cups and twenty million cupro-nickel bullet envelopes.
