After seeing the representatives of tho Coastal Companies, Mr Wade communicated with the President of the Waterside Workers’ Union, and asked him to put before the strike committee a proposal to refer the dispute to Arbitration. Tho committee declined to agree to this course, but was prepared to meet the Coastal Companies in conference. A deputaton from the Labour Council placed befox-e Mr Wade the labour view in regard to the new Industrial Disputes’ Bill.
