At the meeting of the above league on Saturday, Mr E. H. Crabbe read a summary of the statistics compiled from the returns sent in by 175 landowners in the Kiwitea County, in reply to the circulars received from the League’s Committee. The summary was as follows ; Sheep and fat lambs sold 75,878 Bales of wool exported 8,647 Grain and produce exported, tons 1,447 Laud ploughed, acres 8,288 Xjand pkmgbable, acres 41,401 Firewood available, cords 76,850 Dairy produce, tons 650 Pigs available , 1,071 Estimated full produce of land— Stock 129,106 Wool, bales 4,383 Dairy produce 1,000 Material imported last year, tons - 3,933
Mr Orabbe explained that the returns from Apiti had not come to hand owing to tiie fires, and lie had also excluded the returns from Jensen’s Mat from the calculations.
