DAIRY SCHOOL SITE.
PALMERSTON CHOSEN.
The Manawatn Daily Times reports that Cabinet sat until midnight on Saturday, and finally settled the site for the prposed Dairy School. It had before it a full report by the Minister for Lands upon the various sites offered, chief of which were the Mabino site, generously offered by Mr Lethbridge, M.P., the Hawera site, the Weraroa State Farm, the Marton Junction offer, Mr W. O. Buchanan’s £6OOO offer for the Wairarapa, the Show Ground site offered by the Manawatn A. and P. Association, and the Palmerston Borough Council’s 50 acres. Various other sites had been tendered, but many of them, as for instance the Auckland and the South Island sites, were ruled put of cousidertaion at an early stgae. Mr McNab had personally visited all the sites, keeping an open mind, but ho finally reported in favour of the Manawatn Show Ground Site, on various grounds.
